Spotted: Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. May 12, 2012.
Significance: The track-ready Cayman R is nearly 55 kilograms lighter and 20 millimeters lower than the Cayman S it is based on. Weight savings were achieved through lighter aluminum doors and seats, as well as by removing the radio, storage compartments, air-conditioner and door handles.
This example was spotted at Infineon Raceway, where it was taking part in a track day.
